Hi, I’m Samantha Schalk! With nearly 25 years in mental health, I have seen the realities of practice from every angle including direct care, program leadership, clinical supervision, billing and compliance, and practice ownership. I have owned a private practice for almost 10 years and co-owned a group practice for 5 years, so I understand both the pressures of working alone and the complexities of managing a team.

I know HIPAA is not a subject most therapists want to think about. For many, eyes glaze over after the first sentence. For me, it is the opposite. I am a research nerd and I genuinely geek out on HIPAA. I am a natural rule follower, and because of how my brain works, I see both the big picture and the fine details. That mix allows me to translate complex regulations into tools therapists can actually use.

My background includes policy development, re-accreditation processes, and updating compliance manuals for large multi-location agencies, small group practices, and solo practices. I have worked in both private and community mental health, and I know the unique demands of in-person and telehealth practice. I also provide case consultation to colleagues and business strategy coaching under ongoing contracts, which reflects the trust other professionals place in my expertise.
